DICK’S — 10,000 Gifts

Dick’s Sporting Goods wanted an act to punctuate their holiday commercial, a story about their products coming to life in their Fulfillment Center and gifting themselves to a child. So we came up with an initiative to give away gifts of sport to 10,000 kids for the holidays. And to launch the initiative we told the story of Ms. Lorraine who has been using tennis as a way to help the kids of Co-Op City for decades. And to recognize her sacrifice we surprised her with equipment and a sizeable donation to keep up her incredibly important work.

The giving truck tour

To continue to fulfill our commitment of giving gifts to 10,000 kids, we created a giving truck and sent it on a tour around the South and East. At each stop we would work with local charities and sports org to give out gifts to kids in need. We also outfitted the truck with TVs and cameras so professional athletes, like Blake Griffin and Matt Ryan, could video call with kids at each stop providing an unforgettable experience. Kicking off with a segment on Good Morning America.

And we had placements throughout the holiday season in the weekly circular, holiday catalog, website, email, POS etc. that we used to continue to ask for donations to help the initiative.
